Ron had an adventurous plan in mind for his lad’s tour that went beyond the standard offerings. It had to be during half term to accommodate a school teacher in the group, and also avoid the crowds. The team were seasoned skiers and were seeking something different from the typical skiing experience.
Their destination of choice was Secreto Royale in the Val D’Aran region of Spain, where they hoped to immerse themselves in lively street culture and enjoy uncrowded slopes. Their mission was simple: a day of challenging skiing, followed by a siesta, and then evenings filled with delectable local food and wine.
The team was thrilled with the skiing, as you can see in Ron’s video quotes and pictures which captured their excitement on the slopes. They also hired a minibus to give them the freedom to drive to the skiing areas while staying in the charming old town of Vielha. A spacious in-town chalet provided the perfect base for their adventures.
The highlights of the trip were the nights out. They ranged from bar and tapas crawls on some evenings to a grand finale of fine dining on others. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of the local food, as well as the exceptional value. This was a genuine culinary experience, impossible to replicate in purpose-built ski resorts.
Some of the group even took a day off from skiing to give their muscles a break and embarked on a snowmobile trip into the stunning national park. You will see from the video footage from this excursion the awe-inspiring beauty of their adventure”
